Pasadena author Chip Jacobs takes center stage on Tuesday night at the Los Angeles Central Library for its Aloud LA lecture series. Moderated by Kevin Roderick of LA Observed, this free event is really a panel discussion, not a lecture, featuring Jacobs and his co-author, William J. Kelly; author and former state legislator Tom Hayden; and Martin Schlageter of the Coalition for Clean Air. The panelists will talk about how smog helped mold the modern-day culture in Los Angeles (hint: it had a huge impact), and how it affects Southern California as it moves into the coming decades. Trust us: Smog in Southern California is much more fascinating topic than you might think.
Tuesday, June 9, 7 p.m.
