Hard times, like the ones we’re in now, are often extra hard for artists, who are usually among the last professional communities to find any evidence of “recovery” in their pockets — which is why the Arroyo Arts Collective’s 17th annual self-guided tour of artists’ studios and homes has been dubbed “The Recovery Discovery Tour.” On Sunday, more than 100 artists and artisans in Highland Park, Eagle Rock and Mount Washington will be opening their doors to you, the masses, to look and touch and buy, in many, many mediums: painting, sculpture, ceramics, collage, photography, printmaking, textiles, even aerosol art. Check-in is at the Lummis Home. From there you can drive yourself or get around by shuttle. Arrive by Metro and receive two $10 coupons good toward a purchase of $100 or more from an artist on the tour (everyone will receive one such coupon). A list of participants can be found here. Looks like a blast.
