Steve Weingarten as Richard III at A Noise Within

A Noise Within, the classical repertory theater company that’s long been based in Glendale (but is moving to Pasadena next year), has kicked off the new season with a production of Shakespeare’s Richard III. Directed by the company’s co-artistic director, Geoff Elliott, the production hews to the classic standards; it’s set in 1483 and chronicles Richard, the Duke of Gloucester’s ruthless and bloody (not to mention entertaining) climb to England’s throne.

A Noise Within is the only classical repertory theater company in Southern California, and its company of actors, including those in this production, have stage resumes that go on for pages. Suffice it to say that this is a hugely talented and experienced cast that knows their Shakespeare.
