As attentive readers are probably aware, yours truly works a day job at Red Hen Press, a non-profit, independent publisher of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. Mostly I try to refrain from shameless plugs in this here space, but our fall titles were just released, which is really exciting, and to celebrate we’re having a reading at Vroman’s this Tuesday with three of the authors: Marcos Villatoro, Josh Pryor, and Genevieve Kaplan. They’re an eclectic bunch: Genevieve is an award-winning poet, Josh has a book about shrimp-zombie-cannibals, and Marcos is the author of an acclaimed crime fiction series—the Romilia Chacón novels—of which the just-released Blood Daughters is #4. He also has a few Emmys. Come out, say the magic word*, and I’ll buy you a beer afterwards. It’ll be fun.

  1. Colleen Dunn Bates says:

Wish I could be there, but I have to go to the culturally opposite event: the taping of the sitcom my husband works on. We’ll cancel each other out, intellectually speaking.
