We’re looking forward to joining Ann Erdman, the city of Pasadena’s public information officer, at her table for the Women for Racial Justice breakfast on Monday, sponsored by the YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley. It’s part of the Y’s Bridge Builder series, designed to strengthen community. We’ll also be gathering to honor Marge Wyatt, a former Pasadena Unified School District board member and a driving force behind the integration of our public schools. She also founded the Child Care Information Center and remains a volunteer with the NAACP, the League of Women Voters and other Pasadena-area organizations.
The MC for the morning is KNBC-TV reporter Beverly White; the event chair is Ellen Portantino; and the keynote speaker is Dr. Joy DeGruy, a social-work expert and professor at Portland State University who is also known for her workshops on cultural sensitivity, mental health and ecological resilience.
