Attention artists: It’s time to pul out your paintbrushes and set up your easel for a good cause — because this Saturday is the second annual Plein Air Paint-out. Artists will set up easels all over the “City of Trees” (full disclosure: I’ve lived in South Pas all my life and had no idea it was called the City of Trees) to capture images and impressions of the town’s tree-lined streets. (Our trees aren’t just good, they’re great — the Cathedral Oak Monument on Arroyo Drive, for one, is registered as an official landmark.)

To work alongside your fellow artists, including many California Art Club members, just register at the corner of El Centro and Diamond, next to the beautiful South Pasadena Library, sometime after 9 a.m. At 4 p.m. the artists will gather once more at the library for drinks and a recap of the day’s events. Even if you don’t join the painting fun, this reception is open to the public.

The day’s work will be auctioned on October 3rd at ArtsFest; stayed tuned on this site for details.
