If it’s December, there must be a Nutcracker performance happening somewhere — fortunately, the one running this weekend at Glendale’s historic Alex Theatre is a fine one. A Los Angeles Ballet production, this is an elegant ballet that hews to tradition but is not stodgy. The performance opens here in Glendale, then moves to UCLA’s Royce Hall before ending the holiday season at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.
Note that discounts are offered to Glendale residents (must show ID), and kids under 12 get 30% off when accompanied by an adult.
