Kidspace has a big day planned to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday. It’s packed the roster with performers, activities and music, including:
— African folktales told by professional storyteller Michael McCarty at 11 a.m.
— Quilt making all day in the garden
— A children’s drum circle at noon
— Stories by author Faith Ringgold, winner of the Coretta Scott King Award
— A chance to meet Tuskegee Airman Oliver Goodall, who will be interviewed by Tommy “the Hawk” Hawkins at 1 p.m.
— A Brazilian martial arts/dance performance at 2 p.m.

If you live in the greater Pasadena area and have a kid under the age of 10, you may well already belong to Kidspace, but if not, this is yet another reason to join up.
