Lighting the Big Tree

Published: Sunday, December 6th, 2009

City hall tree Lighting the Big TreeTuesday brings the annual lighting of the city of Pasadena’s 20-foot Noble fir tree. Mayor Bill Bogaard will turn on the lights and kick off a celebration that includes music and food. To keep in the city’s increasingly green spirit, Pasadena Water & Power donated LED tree lights that use 90% less energy than traditional lights and don’t emit any heat.

The McKinley After-School Choir will perform holiday songs, and there will be refreshments and a general air of merriment. To make the season merrier for all, please bring a new, unwrapped toy, gift card or piece of sporting equipment to contribute to Spark of Love toy drive organized by the Pasdaena Fire Department.
