Light & Shadow

Apr 9, 2014

AshleyFisher_SophiaAn all-woman show examines “the ideas of light and shadow in myth, nature, and the mystery of the psyche.”

This exhibit opens April 12th at Cactus Gallery features artist Ulla Anobile, while also including Julie Zarate, Kelly Thompson, Donna Abbate, Patricia Krebs, and ten others.

A reception will be held on Saturday, coinciding with NELAart‘s Second Saturdays Gallery Night in Eagle Rock and Highland Park. If you haven’t had a chance to spend an evening here, we highly recommend it. Shops and galleries stay open while bars and restaurants serve the crowds. Besides Cactus Gallery, there’s Avenue 50 Studio, MorYork, and Center for the Arts in Eagle Rock, the Glass Studio, Toros Gallery for ceramics, and the Drawing Club. You can find sustenance at simple coffee joints like Cafe de Leche, Swork, and Antigua Coffee House, some spirits at Johnny’s Bar or The Little Cave, or have a full dining experience at the Salvadorean Las Cazuelas, the organic Vietnamese Blue Hen, or the pricey but excellent Ba Restaurant.
