Take a sip, take a listen, and draw a few lines…
The NELAart organization is having its first LEAD event at the Verdugo Bar on Sunday, August 11th.
The idea is for people to grab their sketch pad, pencils, pens, charcoal, pastels, or whatever their means, and join “like-minded creatives of all styles” to create, exchange images, as well as ideas.
This event is the first of what the organizers hope will be many and falls on the day after NELA’s monthly Gallery Night—every 2nd Saturday, 5-10 p.m.—encouraging people to come check out the local galleries, art exhibits, and creative shops. There are more than a few places along the way for a yummy coffee at Café de Leche, Antiqua Coffee House, and Highland Cafe; for eats at Ba Restaurant, The Bucket, and Auntie Em’s; and for drinks Johnny’s Bar, Hermosillo, and of course, Verdugo.
Avenue 50 Studio will have an opening reception for Mt. Washington plein air painters, as well as “Chispas: a survey exhibition of L.A. woman artists.”
