Guided Hikes in Rubio Canyon

AFC VP Lori Paul & Board member John Howell in the canyon.

The Arroyo & Foothills Conservancy (formerly the Altadena Foothills Conservancy) recently acquired a bit of land in Rubio Canyon, which they are putting to immediate use with a series of Saturday hikes led by knowledgeable guides, including Michele Zack. The hikes end at the Canyon’s waterfalls, which are lovely, especially after the recent rains. If you want to hike, you have to hustle: Space  is limited and an RSVP is required. How to RSVP is somewhat mysterious: the Conservancy’s website doesn’t have any info, but it does have president Nancy Steele’s e-mail address: nsteele@altadenafoothills.org.

Thanks to altadenablog for the tip.

Update: You can RSVP at meredith@arroyosfoothills.org, but the January 16 hike is already full.
