Graffiti Lecture at the PMCA

Jul 11, 2011

Jim Prigoff and his portrait, by Brett Cook (Dizney).

We’ve already covered “Street Cred,” the Graffiti exhibit at the PMCA, which runs until September 4th. What we have not covered is this Thursday’s lecture by Jim Prigoff (what a name), who has been documenting urban murals and aerosol art for the better part of four decades (his book is Spraycan Art). He’ll be talking about the history of graffiti and showing slides. Sounds like an art history class, in a good way. Who needs Titian or Tintoretto when you have CODAK and Nicnak?
