Girl Friday’s Camelot & Vine

Nov 5, 2014

King-Arthur-Movie12-clive-owen-499825_1024_768Not just an author’s reading but an event.

Petrea Burchard, author of Camelot & Vine—a time traveling historic, humorous, dramatic twist of a tale—welcomes one and all to a Girl Friday Book Club night on November 14th at Kidd’s Jewelry Heist in South Pasadena.

The evening will begin with dessert and wine (all the ingredients needed for a successful event), followed by a discussion led by Petrea.

Then, befitting the times (in this case, the 6th century), guests will participate in a project, creating their own leather wrap bracelet (for strengthening your sword arm) or a leather wrap necklace. Jewels and charms from the Jewelry Heist’s treasure chest will be available for looting.

Camelot & Vine‘s unwitting heroine, Casey Clemens, begins her 40th birthday filming a commercial in Los Angeles and within 48 hours finds herself in King Arthur’s court. Haven’t bought or read the book? It’s not necessary to have bought or read the book to enjoy this evening of sipping, tasting, listening, laughing, and creating.

“One day, a King will come, and the Sword will rise…again.”

*We chose this article’s lead picture of Clive Owen as he starred in King Arthur (2004) because…{sigh}…because he’s Clive Owen and we’re irrational fans of Clive Owen.
