Getting Dirty at Descanso

May 29, 2009

campSummer vacation is looming, which means it’s time for kids to get outdoors and get dirty. This year La Cañada’s Descanso Gardens gives your kids the chance to do just that and more with its Descanso Discoveries program. The camp aims to wrangle the natural curiosity and energy of kids 6 to 12 and channel it into science and nature. The program is divided into cycles, so your budding naturalists can choose one or more of the three subjects: edible gardening, survival skills and searching and navigating through a magic forest.

The week-long day camps start on June 22 and take place through July; the camp day is 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuition is $450 per weekly session

These fun camps draw lots of repeat customers and fill up early, so it’s smart to register soon. For more information check out Descanso’ website or call 818.949.7981.
