From Star Wars to Lincoln with CalPhil

Cal-Phil-Festival-on-the-Green-Concert-Series-520x346The summer series opens June 28th with music from Star Wars, E.T., Schindler’s List, Jaws, and Jurassic Park. It’s the works of John Williams. Also on the program is the 1812 Overture, Carmina Burana, and Brahms’ Double Concerto.

Under the direction of Maestro Victor Vener and Chorus Maestra Marya Basaraba, the Cal Phil and Phil Chorale welcomes summer to Santa Anita Race Track in Arcadia.

Gates open at 5:30 for picnicking and feasting. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and a post concert reception is held after the show.

Upcoming shows include “Cowboys & Copeland” and “Movie Masterpieces,” and “Broadway & Bolero.”
