From Mars Attacks! to True Grit

Jul 8, 2013

John-Wayne-in-True-Grit1The little ‘uns will enjoy Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Grandpa will revel in True Grit—yes, the 1969 version with John Wayne.

“Get off your horse and drink your milk!” (supposedly, one of his famous sayings).

Aunt Agnes is going for Woody Allen’s early classic Sleeper (favorite!)…

…while Uncle Pete is looking to revisit the Rat Pack with 1960’s Ocean’s Eleven Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Peter Lawford.

Goofball romance that might drive you insane—though you’ll be laughing all the way—can be found in Groundhog Day and get your dose of the king of quirk with Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks!

These classic (and some not so classic) films can be watched in the courtyard at One Colorado, Central Park, or at Distant Lands—every Friday and Saturday night during the month of July.

Screenings begin at 8:30 p.m. and these trips down memory lane are delightfully free. (You might need to pack Grandpa a snack, though, or grab something from the many, many eateries in the area.)
