Franklin High School, in concert with Tree People, is offering 300 free fruit trees this Sunday, January 25th, 2009 at 1 p.m. Reies Flores organized the rain-or-shine event, whose goal is to promote self-sustainability and combat hunger in Los Angeles.
The trees — apple, apricot, peaches, plums and a limited number of citrus — are here available on a first-come, first-serve basis only to Northeast L.A. residents, so bring your driver’s license or utility bill.
Franklin High School, 820 N. Avenue 54, Highland Park; enter through the Avenue 56 gate to the faculty parking lot. Questions? E-mail Reies Flores reies-jenny@sbcglobal.net
