If you’re a young whippersnapper like me, maybe the first you heard of Connie Rice was on KCRW earlier this week, talking about suing the LAPD into reform and meeting child assassins in housing projects. If you’re not a whippersnapper, and you’ve paid attention to the recent history of law enforcement and civil rights in this city, you probably already know who she is. What you may not know is that she has a new book, Power Concedes Nothing: One Woman’s Quest for Social Justice in America, from the Courtroom to the Kill Zones, which she will be signing at Vroman’s this Thursday. Sounds pretty spiffy.
