windpower Caltech Clean Tech Seminar

Wind power

Any aspiring clean-tech entrepreneurs out there? If so, next Saturday’s Caltech-sponsored forum on the subject is a must-attend. California, it turns out, attracts a majority (as in over 50%) of U.S. clean tech investment, and is way ahead of its Union siblings in enacting forward-thinking energy-efficiency standards (these two things are maybe related?). So if you’re close to a breakthrough on that perpetual motion machine you’ve been working on in the garage, this event will help you figure out how to get it funded, or even sell it. If you don’t have a perpetual motion machine in your garage and are simply interested in the future—of public utilities, of technology, of the planet, of everything—then this also will be interesting. The keynote speaker is a Caltech chemist, while the panel is mostly private-sector types, plus the Director of Economic Development Strategy from the L.A. Mayor’s office. The future is now, my friends.
