Black History Parade

The 27th Annual Black History Parade is set to take place this Saturday, February 21. This year’s theme is “In Our Lifetime: Linking our Past to Our Changing Future,” and many involved in the festivites note the true air of celebration in the air. Pasadena native Lena Kennedy will be the Community Grand Marshall. A political consultant and a member of the National Finance Committee for the Obama for America Campaign, Kennedy worked tirelessly in the Pasadena area in support of President Obama. In addition to the political guests, there will be many celebrity guests in the parade, including producer/director Ken Whittingham, actor James Reynolds and actress Mariah Wilson.

The parade will start in Charles White Park in Altadena, located on Ventura Street at Fair Oaks Avenue; it will continue down Fair Oaks and end at Robinson Park.
