Architecture and history buffs in Pasadena — whose numbers are many — do not want to miss the Pasadena premiere of the new feature film Beautiful Simplicity: Arts & Crafts Architecture in Southern California this Friday night. The documentary’s writer and director, Paul Bockhorst, will be on hand to talk about the film.
Sponsored by Judson Studios and Pasadena Heritage (whose annual Craftsman Weekend is just around the corner), the screening is taking place at Polytechnic School, which was designed by one of Pasadena’s beautifully simple architects, Myron Hunt. Although the 40 buildings in the film are located all around Southern California, quite a lot are, not surprisingly, found in the Pasadena area.
The evening starts with a wine and cheese reception, then moves on to the screening and the discussion with the filmmaker. Tickets are $15, and we are presuming that it will sell out, so get yours soon.
