The day has gone to the dogs quite literally. On Sunday, March 30th, Library Park in Monrovia will be swarming with canines as they and their owners walk, eat, learn, laugh, and raise money to fight cancer.
Humans and canines who are survivors of cancer, as well as therapy dogs will be honored with an initial non-competitive walk (because you can imagine what competitiveness would create—canine-ego chaos!). Following the walk, there will be demonstrations and games. Pasadena Humane Society and SPCA will be on hand, as will be Beans the Whippet, GoodDogBeds, K9 Crazy, Pawmazing Photography, and The Dog Zone.
The event, sponsored by Two Dogs Petsitting, is to raise awareness and get people involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life on August 16th-17th.
“It’s a great opportunity to have fun, meet new friends, and join with your K9 family members in supporting Relay for Life,” says Jen Havens, chairperson for Bark for Life. “When you participate in Bark and the Relay, you’re also helping to fund cancer research, education, advocacy, and community programs for cancer patients and their families.”
