Arroyo Seco Music Festival

Mar 15, 2017

Tom Petty, Weezer, Mumford & Sons.

Need we say more?

Not really.

Though we will.

This inaugural Arroyo Seco Weekend is scheduled for June 24 and 25, and is promoted by Goldenvoice, the folks behind Coachella (so watch out).

We can’t quite picture how it will be set up as the location is stated only as the Brookside Golf Course, and we can’t imagine golfers sacrificing their greens and having (perhaps) intoxicated folks tripping into sand traps.

Besides Petty, Weezer, and M&S, other performers are about jamming and jazz: The Shins, Dawes, The Meters, Andrew Bird, the Revivalists, and Charles Bradley. And just for fun (because who would’ve thought), Jeff Goldblum leads the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.

Another cool aspect is Little Free Libraries will dot the landscape with books relating to LA and Pasadena. Goldenvoice is working with the Armory and Kidspace to create fun experiences for kids and adults alike, and no festival would be complete without food, and lots of it. Example: Bruce Kalman of Union, Roy Choi’s Chego, and Walter Matzke of Republique, for starters. Beer Belly will be providing the cold brews.
