Speaking of trees, the Armory has a new installation up, a collection of about 90 oil paintings by Pasadena artist Elizabeth Saveri. As you can probably discern, the paintings are all of trees (or tree leaves or tree seedpods) on her block. That block is Heather Square, in the neighborhood of Washington Square. The paintings look lovely, with renderings from different times of day and different seasons — a thematic not without precedent in the history of painting. Though the exhibit is already on display, the opening reception is this Saturday, right around when Doo Dah should be wrapping up.
