The mission of the (wonderfully named) Parson’s Nose Productions is to introduce “classic theater to family audiences” through original one-hour adaptations of dramatic masterpieces. These staged readings are designed to be both smart enough for grownups and boisterous enough for kids. They used to put on shows at Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters, but have recently moved to a new location, the Lineage Performing Arts Center on Fair Oaks. They have two presentations of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream this week, one at lunchtime on Friday and one on Saturday night. There was a time when we’d have said successfully condensing a work of Shakespeare’s down to an hour would be a Herculean task, but that was before we heard of these guys. Seating is limited (half full already on Friday), so if you’re interested, RSVP in a hurry.
