2017 Festival of Women Authors

Feb 27, 2017

From veblens to a lady cop in 1910, it must be the Pasadena Festival of Women Authors being held on April 8.

Tickets tend to vanish as this has become quite a popular event (though it does offer a wait list).

This year’s authors include Elizabeth McKenzie, author of The Portable Veblen and Amy Stewart with Lady Cop Makes Trouble, the second installment in this hit series.

The rest of the impressive cast is Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney (The Nest), Yaa Gyasi (Homegoing), Rufi Thorpe (Dear Fang, with Love), Vendela Vida (The Diver’s Clothes Lie Empty), and Jung Yun (Shelter).

We’ve been to a few of these events and listening to the authors, some who share the journey of their novel, their journey as an author, their process, or none of the former—it’s eye-opening, engaging, entertaining, insightful, emotional, and fun.

With all this rain and these chilly (cold!) temperatures, there’s never been a better excuse to buy books, make your favorite cuppa, cuddle up, and read for hours on end…
