This spacious restaurant, recently spiffed up, is one of the best places for sushi east of the 5 Freeway. Inside is a large drinking bar (try the plum martini), a long sushi bar and tables set with black linens. How much you spend depends on whether you order a bargain non-sushi dinner (like chicken teriyaki, barbecued beef or tempura, all less than $12.95) or get carried away with sushi. (Prices are reasonable, but sushi and sashimi can add up.) The extensive menu showcases fresh sashimi, good salads, creative rolls and such appealing cooked dishes as salmon and baby lobster with a subtle wasabi cream sauce. It might be a little fusion-y for some folks, but the sushi is the real thing.
