Ukeleles and Lobster

Jul 7, 2013

jumpin fleas circus playersJumping fleas and crustaceans may not naturally sound like they go hand in hand. This Friday, Strummin’ Ukeleles and Luscious Lobsters at Fancy Food Truck Friday in Altadena may change this perception.

The ukelele, developed in late 1880s in Hawaii, is the string instrument of choice for the Jumpin’ Flea Circus Players. (The word “ukelele” roughly translates as “jumping flea.”) They will be performing music for the century between 1920 an now. Be prepared to start tapping your feet and maybe belting a few bars—please be considerate of your neighbors if you’re not naturally pitch perfect—at 6:45 p.m.

“Shark Tank” winner Cousins Maine Lobster is making its first appearance at Fancy Food Truck Friday. They’ll be serving up lobster rolls, lobster and shrimp tacos, lobster tail, bisque, and New England Clam Choweder. Other truck favorites are Game On! Gourmet, Rosa’s Bella Cucina, Mandoline Grill, Komodo, and Coolhaus Ice Cream Truck.

Danny’s Farm will give kids (big and small) a chance for some hands on petting (and you’ll be supporting work that Danny’s Farm does for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

This event is hosted by Webster’s Community Pharmacy and Webster’s Fine Wines & Spirits.
