Okay, so it’s kinda corporate and chain-restauranty, but we love this huge pub/restaurant anyway. It has the most diverse crowd of any Pasadena bar—all ages, all ethnicities, all social strata—it has some 150 beers on tap (and a full bar), and it has much better food (Korean BBQ beef, ahi salad, excellent burgers, a yummy onion-ring “tower”) than the typical beer bar. Expect a mob on weekends; waits for a table for dinner can reach an hour. But while you wait you’ll have fun trying the Pyramid Heffenweizen, Rogue Dead Guy Ale and Hobgoblin English Ale. We just wish they’d move beyond the classic-rock music formula—even aging boomers get tired of the Eagles eventually.
