Dine under nature’s canopy right on Green Street…sans the swoosh and veering of cars.

Replacing cars for one entire block, The Long Table will have its Playhouse District Food & Wine Celebration inaugural debut Saturday, August 24th.

Communal tables will be set up and diners will experience “epicurean fare, refreshing drinks, and wonderful music” from seven Pasadena Playhouse District businesses: Le Cordon Bleu College’s Technique Restaurant, El Portal, Monopole Wine, Settebello, Tender Greens, Urth Caffe, and Roy’s, with MUSE/IQUE providing strolling musicians.

El Portal is serving braised boneless short rib for its entrée choice. It will sit in a nest of creamy herbed polenta, brandy bordelaise sauce served with baked globe tomato filled with diced summer vegetables and fresh grilled asparagus. Technique will offer plum jus glazed warm chicken terrine with Technique bacon, ragu de legume, grilled ramps and summer truffle crème fraiche. Misoyaki butterfish, sizzling soy vinaigrette and furikake rice will be the offered by Roy’s Restaurant. Choice of entrées can be determined upon purchase of tickets.
