If you haven’t been to a wedding or a bar mitzvah in a while, head to Mandaloun on a weekend night, and you’ll experience the next best thing, Middle Eastern-style. Three-generation family groups (all dressed up) and large tables of friends come for a night of dancing to the band (it’s loud-don’t plan on having meaningful conversations), festive toasting and watching the impressive late-night belly-dancing show. Hookahs are even available out on the terrace. The prix-fize menu (mandatory on weekends) features a parade of delicious, carefully prepared Lebanese specialties – light, unusually and beautifully composed – that will leave you happily sated for days. During the week and for lunch, you can choose your own dishes and enjoy a quieter atmosphere. Service is elegant, professional and cool.
