A traditional French bistro with Eagle Rock flair—the slogan is “Everything French, even the attitude.” Except the only attitude we’ve seen from the black-T-shirted French waiters is an informal, witty warmth. They deliver green salads topped with goat cheese croutons, crocks of onion soup, escargots, steak frites with some of the best frites in the region, heavenly apple or banana tarte tatins, and affordable bottles of Côtes du Rhône. The good cooking, moderate prices and relaxed charm keep the place packed with a wonderfully diverse crowd. Local jazz musicians play on Wednesday nights.
