LINCOLN HEIGHTS — Two drive-by shootings – one near a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant – occurred only hours apart and within a few blocks of each other along Pasadena Avenue. The shootings seem to be unrelated, based on preliminary information.  There was one injury.

In the more recent incident, a Jack-in-the-Box on the 2500 block of Pasadena Avenue was struck by gunfire at about 9 a.m. today. No one was hit.

Employees told police one bullet hit the back door. An Eastsider reader said it appeared that the front door had also been blown out. He said there was a large number of officers present near the fast-food restaurant, which sits at the busy Five Points intersection.

Police say the suspect or suspects fired out of a white or cream-colored compact car, then immediately fled.

The earlier incident took place on Saturday at 8:05 p.m. in the 2800 block of Pasadena Avenue, injuring one person. The victim – a 24-year-old Latina  – was taken to L.A. County – USC Medical Center, where she is in stable condition. There is no indication yet whether she knew or recognized the shooters.

The shots were fired out of a dark colored compact vehicle.
