EAGLE ROCK — Former Glee producer Alexis Martin Woodall and her husband, chef Dave Woodall, are preparing to open a new restaurant called Red Herring – in – the former home of Le Petit Beaujolais on Colorado Boulevard.

Woodhall, who also played in an indie band, first revealed the couple’s plans last June in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, saying their new restaurant would open  in the fall in the 1600 block of Colorado Boulevard across from Casa Bianca. That didn’t happen but the couple have continued to work on the new restaurant, having applied this year for state alcohol license and city building permits.

What do Woodhall and her husband — who has worked at  Blair’s in Silver Lake, according to The Reporter — have in mind for Red Herring? That’s not clear but a Facebook page says the restaurant will bring “a sense of time and place to the here and now in Eagle Rock” as well as menu items made with items obtained from local sources.

The storefront has been vacant since Le Petit Beaujolais closed last year.
