Three persons, including a child, were killed and another three were injured tonight after their minivan plunged off the eastbound 134 Freeway near Figueroa Street in Eagle Rock, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.  The eastbound 134 has been closed as officials continue their investigation into the crash that took place at about 7 p.m.  A man, woman and child were pronounced dead the scene; the other three victims, which included a six year-old girl,  were taken to the hospital in serious to critical condition.

L.A. Now reports that the vehicle was traveling in the far left lane when it drove off a freeway bridge and fell onto Figueroa Street below.

The CHP has issued a Sigalert for the 134 and traffic is backing up on nearby freeways. A string of red tail lights on the 134 Freeway was visible from Elysian Heights.

The accident apparently took place about a block away from where an outdoor concert was being held at the Eagle Rock Recreation Center near the freeway.
