Storefront Report: Proposed Echo Park wine bar seeks city permission to start pouring

Mar 11, 2014

The former Echo Park wine bar known as City Sip will serve as the new home of a new wine bar called Bar Bandini, which will include indoor and outdoor seating for about 80 customers as well as live entertainment.  Well, at least that’s the plan by the owners, an entity known, JP Lippstein 2150 GP LLC. Their  proposal will be the subject of a March 18 public hearing before a Planning Department zoning administrator.

Bar Bandini wants city approval for an alcohol permit allowing it to serve beer and wine on the premises and also to sell beer and wine to-go from the Sunset Boulevard storefront near the Echo Park fire station, according to a public hearing notice.

The new wine bar would occupy a space that has  been empty for about a year since City Sip closed up shop after a makeover to attract a younger bar crowd failed to pay off.
