Silver Lake man warns neighbors of vehicle break-in on Shadowlawn

Sep 11, 2012

Silver Lake man warns neighbors of vehicle break in on Shadowlawn photoA Silver Lake resident named Chris advised his  neighbors on Shadwowlawn Avenue near West Silver Lake Drive to be on lookout for a motorcyclist who early this morning managed to get inside his Lexus parked on the street. The motorcyclist fled the scene after one of Chris’ neighbors who saw the crime taking place shouted at the suspect before anything was taken (though the vehicle registration maybe missing). Police said they think that the suspect wearing a multicolored motorcycle jacket and helmet may have opened the Lexus door with a key that can be used to open similar cars.

“LAPD visited and said more than likely he was looking for a garage door opener and has probably been casing Shadowlawn and other streets for a good while,” Chris said in an email. “Take your garage door opener OUT of your car.”
