Tacos have long been a staple of Eastside cuisine. With the food truck movement of the last few years, chefs and culinary experimenters around L.A. have had the opportunity to get a bit more adventurous with their fillings. The latest in that long line of revolutionary chefs is Chef Farid Zadi of Revolutionario North African Tacos, which recently partnered with Los Originales Tacos Árabes de Puebla for a joint taco pop-up in Boyle Heights. The L.A. Times reports braised duck, lamb, and other Algerian-based specialties filled the main dishes. The Boyle Heights pop-up was a test kitchen of sorts – Zadi’s brick and mortar location is coming to downtown this fall.

- Eagle Rock’s artisan cheese and sandwich, Milk Farm, is primed to reap the rewards of their newest crop – beer and wine. Eater LA notes that the eatery just acquired its beer and wine license and is now also offering beer/wine and cheese pairings throughout the weekends.
- Speaking of sandwiches, L.A. Weekly writes, that Atwater Village has some stellar offerings. Selections from Baracoa, Giamela’s, and a hearty prime rib from mainstay Tam O’Shanter are all included in the Top 5 for the Eastside neighborhood.
- In Silver Lake, the sandwiches will remain the same at Sorpressata despite a remodel; however, the same cannot be said of its nighttime alter ego, Black Hogg, writes Eater L.A. The Sunset Blvd storefront which houses both restaurant iterations is closed while it undergoes a facelift, which includes and entirely new concept and menu for Black Hogg.
