  • A kidnapping suspect was shot and killed by sheriff deputies after he had barricaded himself in an East L.A. home in the 6400 block of W. Northside Drive. The suspect was pronounced dead at a hospital. CBS 2
  • A 17-year-old senior at Bravo Medical Magnet High School in Boyle Heights drowned after she was caught in a rip current in Santa Monica this weekend. The teenage girl was a member of the school’s cross country team and had been accepted to Stanford. Boyle Heights Beat
