LADWP Outage Map

LADWP crews have been working 16-hour shifts to restore electrical service knocked down by this weekend’s “heat storm” and record-high demand. But thousands of customers still remained without power Sunday morning, including nearly 2,000 in Silver Lake and another 1,200 in Highland Park.

More than 6,800 Eastside customers were still without power on Sunday morning. That down from more than 9,000 reported on Saturday night.

The agency is warning that restoring service will take longer than usual given the large number of outages, with many repairs expected to take 24 to 48 hours to complete.

LADWP continues to urge customers to reduce their electricity use where possible during peak hours between 2:00 – 9 p.m. today as well as on Sunday.  The utility said peak electrical use on Friday set an all time high for a day in July while the peak on Saturday was the second highest for any weekend in the agency’s history.
