Northeast LA Blanket Drive at Eagle Rock City Hall: Los Angeles is still in the midst of a homelessness crisis and you can do your part to help by donating toiletries, blankets and clothes. Free. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Details

Tantra Speed Dating at Still Yoga: Spice up your dating life and try light acro yoga, improv and eye-gazing with 24 other singles. It could be awkward or a lot of fun, you won’t know until you try! $35-$60. 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Details

Cinema Magic at the Santa Cecilia Arts & Learning Center: Relive moments from films like Titanic, West Side Story and Pirates of the Caribbean as the Santa Cecilia Orchestra brings the films songs to life. $24. 8 p.m. Details

Second Saturday Gallery Night NELA: Bundle up and take a stroll through your favorite NELA neighborhoods as your favorite galleries, businesses and artists open their doors on the second Saturday of every month. Free. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Details

Donut Street Meet at Echo Park Lake: Join local photographers for donuts and an opportunity to take photos of the lake in the early morning light. Free. 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Details

You Kids Get Off My Lawn! Comedy at the Clubhouse: This comedy show gives you the opportunity to go out on a Saturday night and still get home at a reasonable time. The parking is free and so are the refreshments! Free. 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Details

SUNDAY, January 13

Dark ’80s Night at the Echo: Don’t put away the black lipstick and fishnet tee just yet, Part Time Punks’ new dance night is devoted to the best dark sounds of the ’80s with DJs spinning music by the likes of Bauhaus, Joy Division and Sisters of Mercy. $5-$8. 9:30 p.m. Details
