HIGHLAND PARK –  One of the first members of Highland Park’s million-dollar home club is this three-bedroom, two-bath home  that officially changed hands last week for $1 million, according to Redfin.   Located on the northern edge of Highland Park near Eagle Rock, the home on Coringa Drive received six offers and sold at more than $121,000 over its asking price.  “We were …. totally blown away at the price it brought in,” said real estate agent Deirdre Salomone.

The residents of the home, perched on a hill over the Occidental College playing fields, enjoy city and mountain views but the kitchen was also a major draw. ” The owner was a gourmand and designed the kitchen, which opened to two living spaces and the dining room,” said Salomone of Keller Williams.

The home’s $1 million-dollar selling price is more than double the $418,000 median sales price for the 90042 Zip Code, according to Redfin.   It’s the Zip Code’s second million-dollar home sale in the past year, with a house on Cresthaven Drive selling for $1.150 million last May.
