Tis the time for holiday parades, parties and more! Below are a few Christmas- and Hanukkah-inspired  celebrations coming up this weekend and early next week.

Old Fashioned Christmas  |  Friday,Dec. 7

Join Eagle Rock residents for live entertainment and refreshments during the Eagle Rock Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 7  in front of Eagle Rock City Hall. Details

Oneg Shabbat Hanukkah Party |  Friday,Dec. 7

Temple Beth Israel of Highland Park and Eagle Rock will hold a “Hanukkah-infused Kabbalat Shabbat” with music, latkes and dinner. Don’t forget your dreidels! Details

Echo Park Community Parade | Saturday, Dec. 8

Come see classic cars, festive floats, and Santa Claus at the 2018 Echo Park Community Parade along Sunset Boulevard This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Cultural Diversity of Echo Park.” Details

El Sereno Tree Lighting Ceremony and Winter Jubilee | Sunday, Dec. 9

This annual events includes games and activities for kids, live music and performances, a giveway and pictures with Santa. Details

Highland Park Holiday Tree Lighting | Sunday, Dec. 9

Expect hot cocoa, holiday goodies, music,  toys for kids and Santa during the countdown to the 6 pm tree lighting in front of the Highland Park Senior Center. Details

Las Posadas Celebration in East LA | Tuesday, Dec. 11

The East Los Angeles Library presents a posada walk and post celebration with food, refreshments, music and Santa. The event honors the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem  The event is on Tuesday, December 11 and starts at 6 p.m. Details

Celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe | Wednesday, Dec. 12

The Cathedral Center of St. Paul in Echo Park will host an evening of performances by Aztec dancers, a bilingual Eucharist with traditional music that will be followed by tamales and champurrado. Details
