Dead man found in aftermath of East L.A. fire; pedestrian killed after being struck by Amtrak train near Lincoln Heights

East L.A. Fire: A man was found dead Friday morning in a shed that had caught fire behind an East Los Angeles home in the 600 block of S. Fetterly Avenue. Arson and homicide investigators were called to the scene but the cause of the fire has not been determined. ABC7

Pedestrian Killed:  An Amtrak train traveling to Union Station struck and killed a man Friday night on the tracks near the L.A. River across from Lincoln Heights. The victim, described as a Latino male between the ages of 55 and 65, was pronounced dead at the scene on a section of track between the Broadway and Spring Street bridges, according to the LAPD Central Traffic Division and the L.A. Fire Department.  The Amtrak engineer sounded the train’s horn and began applying the brakes but the train was not able to stop in time.
