Coming to Dodger Stadium for the season opener? Then watch out for No Parking signs

Mar 27, 2019

Baseball fans driving to Dodger Stadium on Thursday afternoon for the season opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks should  be aware of parking restrictions around the ballpark that could get their vehicles towed.

Several of the  streets within walking distance of the stadium will be placed under  temporary “Tow-Away, No Stopping Anytime”  restrictions between 5 am to 5 pm  on opening day, March 28, said the LAPD in its annual warning.   That includes  a section of Stadium Way between Scott Avenue and Academy Road  known as Avenue of the Palms, which is a traditionally a popular pre-game party and picnic spot for Dodger fans.

Parking will also be prohibited  on Academy Road between Morton Avenue and Stadium Way and Scott Avenue between Boylston Street and Elysian Park Drive.

In addition to game-day no parking restrictions, parking on many other nearby streets will also be limited to two-hours.

Officials recommended that if possible fans take the Dodger Stadium Express from Union Station — the ride is free for those with game tickets  — or bike or walk to the ballpark.

The season opener, scheduled to begin at 1:10 pm,  is the beginning of seven home games at the stadium.
