Two parked cars were damaged Thursday night in Angeleno Heights after they were struck by bullets, police said.
Several police units including a helicopter responded to multiple calls of gunfire that were heard at about 9:50 p.m. in the area of Ridge Way and Laveta Terrace, said Lt. Wes Buhrmester with the LAPD’s Rampart Division.
“No persons were found to have been hit, but in the middle of the street, in the 800 block of Laveta Terrace, four casings were found,” said Buhrmester via email. “Also discovered were two parked cars hit by gunfire, one hit once, the other hit three times, with its rear window shattered.”
A car described as a two-door or four-door red Honda may have been involved in the incident police could not determine a motive.
“It has not yet been determined why those cars were hit or if it was by design or accident while aiming at something else,” Buhrmester said. “The casings were booked as evidence. Our detectives will follow-up in the neighborhood either today or tomorrow.”
