Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE), a leading nonprofit statewide Latina leadership and advocacy organization, today announced that Denise Campos, a longtime resident of Eagle Rock and Highland Park, will serve on the planning committee for one of the largest Latina conferences in California, the 22nd Latina History Day Conference set for March 8 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.

“I am pleased and excited to serve the mission of HOPE and want to encourage Latinas from Northeast Los Angeles to register for our March 8 conference by visiting www.Latinas.org or Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/hopelatinas,” said Campos.

Scheduled annually as part of Women’s History Month, the Conference brings together over 800 women to celebrate the historical accomplishments of Latinas and presents workshops on career development, community issues, and financial empowerment. This year’s lineup of speakers includes Olympic water polo gold medalist Brenda Villa and Dr. Aliza Lifshitz, a renowned physician, author and health reporter. The cost to register for the Latina History Day Conference is $100 for corporate employees and $75 for individuals.

HOPE is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to ensuring political and economic parity for Latinas through leadership, advocacy and education to benefit all communities and the status of women.

Campos works for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) as a Project Manager in Stakeholder Education and Outreach with the company’s Advanced Meter project. SoCalGas is a title sponsor of this year’s Latina History Day Conference.
