7 injured in Cypress Park crash; fire hits Mt. Washington home; lawsuit filed over Echo Park police shooting

Crash: Seven people, including two pedestrians, were injured when two cars collided Friday afternoon in the 2900 block of Division Street on the border of Cypress Park and Glassell Park. One of the vehicles struck two pedestrians as a result of the crash. Three persons were described in fair condition and the others in good condition. LAFD

FIRE: One person was treated for smoke inhalation during a Friday night fire that engulfed the second floor of a Mt. Washington home in the 1100 block of Oban Drive. KTLA

LAWSUIT: An excessive use of force lawsuit has been filed over the October 2016 shooting that took place when officers responded to a brawl outside The Short Stop bar in Echo Park.  Andres Ramirez was shot twice in the back by police as he fled from the scene of the fight, which involved an off-duty LAPD officer. Police said Ramirez was armed  but his lawyer said Ramirez did not use or point the weapon at police.  ABC 7
