The Wandering Foot Quilt Guild. Now, that’s a name. A good name.

Start your holiday shopping early at this holiday quilt display and boutique October 19th at the Presbyterian Church in Arcadia.

There will be opportunity baskets and a quilt give-a-way ($1 raffle), a bake sale, and hundreds of quilts and hand sewn items for sale representing holidays for the year. The quilt display will feature the talents of the guild’s members, including award-winning quilting, and appliqué and art quilts of all sizes designed by their makers.

Holiday quilt themes will cover Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and Thanksgiving, as well as Fall and Winter.

The Wandering Foot Quilt Guild meets every fourth Wednesday of each month, 7-9:30 p.m. They also have what they call “small friendship groups” with names like “Tumbling Blocks”, “Quilting Divas”, “SOS (Stuck on Stitching)”, and “SnB (aka Stitch n Bitch)”.

Their site also links to—get ready for it—the International Quilt Study Center & Museum at the University of Nebraska, which houses the largest publicly held quilt collection in the world, with 3,500 quilts dating back to the early 1700s. The IQSCM has a “Quilt of the Month” that Wandering Foot shares with its members.
